Route: where we will go

Moscow – Kasimov – Nizhniy Novgorod – Vladimir - Moscow

Nizhny Novgorod Vladimir motorycle tour Rusmotoravel

Day 1. Moscow - Kasimov, 370 km.

Kolomna will be a first sight on our way. Here they have a famous Kremlin and cozy downtown streets. We will go to the Kalach (kind of a Russian bread) and take a photo next to Dmitry Donskoy monument. After leaving Kolomna we will visit Lukhovitsy with its famous “Cucumber the breadwinner” monument and head to the ferry crossing right after which we will drive along the Mescherskiy national park. We will make a stop next to the abandoned bridge over Narma river and have a look at Russian-baroque style church in Gus-Zhelezniy. We will spend the night in Kasimov – a former kasimov khanate capital.

Day 2. Kasimov – Murom – Nizhniy Novgorod, 260 km.

Sightseeing is planned for us in the morning. Among the sights of Kasimov we will definitely see a magnificent example of Tatar architecture – a khan Shakh-Ali sepulture. After Kasimov we will reach lovely Murom, make a stop in one of the old monasteries and then we will take a picturesque hilly road to the direction of Nizhniy Novgorod. Here we will see Novgorodian Kremlin, Pokrovskaya street with old merchant houses, amazing embankment and the longest cable road in Russia. We will spend a night in this city which is considered to be a part of UNESCO heritage list.

Day 3. Nizhniy Novgorod - Vladimir, 410 km.

Leaving Nizhniy Novgorod in the morning we will ride along the west bank of Volga and approach Chkalovsk. After that we will visit Palekh – a little town, famous for its hand-made casket trade. We will head to Shuya and will see one of the highest bell-towers in the world (106 m.). After that we will ride to Bogolyubovo where we have probably one of the most famous medieval Churches of Russia – Pokrova-Na-Nerli. This 12th century built cathedral is placed on the border between Nerl and Klyazma rivers. In the evening we will approach Vladimir where we will go for a walk in the historical city center, seeing the Golden gates, ancient fortifications and many other sights. We will spend a night here.

Day 4. Vladimir - Moscow, 300 km.

On the last day of our journey we will visit the gem of Russia’s Golden Ring – Suzdal. We will see its white stone churches and a glorious Spaso-Ephim’evskiy monastery. After leaving Suzdal we will take over way back to Moscow visiting Ur’ev-Polskiy and Kolchugino.
